'The Hateful Eight' Spoilers: Quentin Tarantino & Cast Give The Lowdown On Spectacular Vision For Movie In Special Featurette [VIDEO]
Director Quentin Tarantino and some of the cast members of The Hateful Eight dished about the grand technical scale of the movie in a new featurette.

Samuel L. Jackson, who plays Major Marquis Warren in the film, introduced the clip by making fans privvy to the format the film is being presented in and the exclusive Road Show styled release it will be getting on Christmas. Tarantino, Jackson and other actors like Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, James Parks and Walten Goggins give the lowdown on the spectacular vision for the film, which would contribute to enhances viewing. The 70mm allows for great detail, and a very wide frame. Tarantino's idea is to make the movie viewing experience for The Hateful Eight an event. The movie is also filmed in ultra panavision, in the tradition of the movie Ben Hur. Tarantino revealed that watching Ben Hur in its original format inspired him to work with the same template for The Hateful Eight.
There are also glimpses from the test footage from the Ultra Panavision 70 mm in the clip.
In a recent interview with Variety, Russell stressed on the great visual quality of the movie, saying that it was worthy of multiple viewings, crediting cinematographer Bob Richardson's vision and how the experience keeps getting richer as you notice newer things in the frame on second glance. "I've seen it three times and I can't wait to see it again," he said.
Actor Tim Roth, who plays Oswaldo Mobray, drives the point home in the featurette, saying that for the actors it felt like they were going to be in a movie and not a hard drive
The movie will release on Dec. 25, 2015.
