Selena Gomez & Justin Bieber Break Up: He Says I'm 'Not in the Happiest Place'
With a new album out on Jan. 29 and praise for the one he is currently on tour for, Justin Bieber admitted in a recent interview that since separating from Selena Gomez, he has not been the happiest multi-mullion dollar singer.
The 18-year-old revealed in an interview with Billboard magazine, in which he graced its February 2013 issue, that he uses heartbreak as inspiration for new music. When asked about his recent split from Gomez, 20, after two years on and off together, Bieber replied, "I'm not in the happiest place that I've ever been."
On Jan. 26, he tweeted a preview of his magazine cover along with the caption: "tried to be honest."
Bieber's new album "Believe Acoustic" comes out Jan. 29. One of the songs off of the album,"Yellow Raincoat," already leaked online and includes sentimental lyrics such as "Whenever I do have it, do I have it, want this to face me. Whenever I do have it, do I want this thing to make me. Cause the fame, and the money, and the girl will drive you crazy. Another he say, she say, I'm thinking maybe."
Gomez hinted to her feelings post-split earlier in January.
On Jan. 19, she headlined a UNICEF charity concert in New York City where she sang renditions of Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me a River" and Taylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble." Gomez told the audience before singing Timberlake's song, "I've been through a lot the last couple of months. It's been sad and cool, but interesting. This song definitely speaks to me."
Before she was about to perform Swift's song, she said, "If you've ever felt pain, you know this one."
Bieber and Gomez broke up on Dec. 30 reportedly following a dispute they had while on vacation together in Mexico. The topic behind the argument has not been revealed but a source said the couple had trust issues in the past.
"The problem in the first place is that Selena was a little bit of a jealous girlfriend and Justin wasn't really taking her feelings into regard," a source close to the singers told Radar Online. "Justin doesn't see texting other girls as cheating, but he's promised Selena he'll stop if she takes him back."
