Chris Brown and Frank Ocean fought outside a Los Angeles recording studio on Sunday, Jan. 27.

The brawl took place at the Westlake Studio on Santa Monica Blvd in Los Angeles over a parking spot, according to a source close to Brown.

The drama began when Brown, who was at the studio to preview tracks from one of his recording artists, tried leaving but his exit was blocked by one of Ocean's friends. A source told TMZ that Ocean told Brown, "This is my studio, this is my parking lot." When Brown went to shake his hand to make amends, one of Ocean's friends confronted Rihanna's on-and-off again boyfriend.

Ocean then approached Brown, and the "Fortune" singer pushed the Odd Future member. The scuffle led to a physical brawl between the two.

Shortly after the melee, Brown, 23, and his camp left the studio as Ocean, 24, and his crew stayed and waited for cops. The Los Angeles Police department told TMZ they interviewed Ocean, who they refer to as the "victim" because Brown hit him. As of press time, no one has been arrested.

Ocean confirmed the incident when he tweeted early Monday "got jumped by chris and a couple guys. lol. i only wish everest was there."

Shortly after, Ocean wrote on Twitter that he is now unable to play any instruments at the Grammy awards show, held on Sunday, Feb. 10.

"cut my finger now I can't play w two hands at the grammys," Ocean wrote.

Prior to Sunday's fight, he and Brown were at odds after they engaged in a longstanding Twitter war.

Ocean made headlines last year when referenced his sexuality in his debut album "Channel Orange." Ocean wrote songs for Justin Bieber and John Legend, and is also featured in Jay-Z and Kanye West's album "Watch the Throne."

Brown assaulted Rihanna on the eve of the Grammys in 2009 and is currently on probation on charges for the domestic assault. Last year, he was injured in a brawl in a Manhattan nightclub between his friends and rapper Drake's camp.
