Maya Arulpragasam, better known as M.I.A. has released her latest single, "Borders", paired with a politically charged music video. The British singer directed the video, which targets the gripping refugee controversy.

This isn't the first time the artist made her personal views against world issues public and through her music. Her music video for "Born Free" raised eyebrows after depicting genocide on redheads, which alluded to the judicial killings in Sri Lanka.

According to News Week, M.I.A.'s latest single along with her other song, "Swords" are set to be part of a full-length 10-track album and cinematic experience entitled, "Matahdatah."
