Kate Beckinsale reportedly reached out to Ben Affleck after her split from director Len Wiseman.
According to a new report, the actress, who starred in Pearl Harbor with Affleck in 2001, turned to the actor for support after her nine-year romance with Wiseman came to an end earlier this year.
“Kate used to be madly in love with Ben. He would make her giddy with excitement any time they were in the same room,” a source told The Sun on Saturday. “She’s turned to him for support as a friend because they’ve stayed in touch during her difficult time."
What Ever Happened To Ben Affleck's Nanny (& Alleged Mistress)?
Just like Beckinsale, Affleck is newly single after splitting from wife Jennifer Garner over the summer. At the time, Affleck was accused of having an affair with the couple's former nanny, Christine Ouzounian, although the report was never confirmed.
“Some of their friends have suggested that they’re made for each other and give a proper relationship a go,” the source explained of Affeck's potential romance with Beckinsale.
As for the end of Beckinsale's relationship, the Sun source explained, “Kate nearly left two years ago because it got so bad. They put it back together but in February they decided enough was enough. She removed her wedding ring in April.”
Beckinsale and Wiseman had no children together, while Affleck and his ex share three kids, Seraphina, Violet and Samuel.
