One of the stars of Downton Abbey opened up on how she was feeling when the final moment of filming took place.

'Not Everyone Will Have A Happy Ending' On 'Downton Abbey'

Last Friday, Red Magazine shared an interview with Michelle Dockery, known for playing Lady Mary on the British-American drama. She actually wasn't feeling too hot when she filmed her last scene, but she also felt it was good timing to let the series run its course.

"On my last day of filming, leading up to that final take, I felt sick," Dockery said. "I didn't expect to feel so sad. But I think it was a smart move to end the show where we did. At the wrap party, the producer did a speech and said, 'now let's party like it's 1925!' My feet have only just recovered from all the dancing."

The actress then dished on how her life changed when the show became such a massive hit. When times were tough, she had good people to rely on.

"When Downton first became...just the enormity of it. I was so overwhelmed and found it hard to adjust to being recognized and having my private life in the spotlight," Dockery said. "You quickly realize that the press can get to you. I've got people around me who I can turn to for advice: my mum, and my partner, John [Dineen, her PR fiance]. But, at this stage, my instincts are pretty good."

Downton Abbey Season 6 premieres in the United States on Sunday, January 3 on PBS.
