Jim Carrey’s daughter auditions for American Idol!
Talent runs in the family!
On Sunday’s episode of American Idol tryouts were held in San Diego and Jane Carrey, daughter of Jim Carrey was among the hopefuls.
Carrey sang Something to Talk About by Bonnie Raitt for judges Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson.
“The last name definitely helps and hurts. There's this pressure to be better because if I make it somewhere, I run the risk of people saying 'you only got there because of your name.'" Carrey said before the performance. "I'm here to make my place in the world."
Lopez even had a reminiscent moment of her time as a Fly Girl on In Living Color with Jim Carrey and meeting Jane when she was young.
"You remember me? Lopez said. “I was one of the Fly Girls?!"
After being advanced to Hollywood for the next round in the competition, Carrey called her famous dad.
“She's so wonderful and amazing to me," Jim Carrey told Ryan Seacrest on speakerphone after Jane auditioned. "I can't wait for the world to understand what she has inside of her. This is going to be a fantastic year."
