Seems like the mortals might be sidelined in Transformers 5 if a new Movie News Guide report is to be trusted.

The report sources a Deadline interview with the Akiva Goldsman, who is heading the writing team for the prequels and sequels for Transformers now. In the interview Goldsman revealed that they were taking a lot of inspiration from the toys. "It has been designed with a lot of visual help, toys, robots, sketches and writers and artists. After that super saturation, the writers will figure out not one, but numerous films that will extend the universe," he said.

This kind of speculation was rife earlier in the year when nothing was in place for the movie, and many believed that perhaps the sequel to Age of Extinction would take place entirely in Cybertron. As in the conclusion for Age of Extinction Optimus Prime was seen leaving earth to find his makers.

Will Megan Fox Join The Age of Extinction Sequel?

But nothing can be said with definitiveness yet even though details about the writing team are out. As many sequels and prequels are planned, it is likely that one of them might actually be completely human less. But to suggest the sequel to Age of Extinction will be such, is a bit of a stretch right now.

Goldsman won't be writing the movie, as he is set to surpervise the writing teams for G.I. Joe and conceptualising Micronauts. The report reveals that while Goldsman will still be surpervising the creative process behind Transformers 5, new scribes are coming on board to put pen to paper. The writers of Iron Man, Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, and Black Hawk Down's Ken Nolan.

Transformers: Age of Extinction hit theaters on June 27, 2014.
