Matt Bomer Finally Addresses Christian Grey Fifty Shades Movie Role, Details
The Fifty Shades of Grey movie adaptation rumor mill continues to churn out names at an astounding rate of speed. One such name that has been mentioned seemingly over and over again is Matt Bomer of White Collar, whom many fans feel would make the perfect Christian Grey.
Although the 35-year-old television star is mostly known for his principal role in the USA mainstay show, he's been one of the actor's repeatedly brought up in most conversations relating to the casting of the S&M-crazed billionaire character.
In an interview with The Metro, Bomer finally addressed the million-dollar question on everyone's minds.
"No comment. That's my line on that. But it's very flattering I've got fans who would like to see me in these things."
Although Bomer's response is less than ideal for his loyalists who feel he's the perfect fit for Christian Grey, it does give confirmation that he is well aware of the interest he's garnered for the highly anticipated part.
Other potential candidates that have come up for the Grey character include Gangster Squad's Ryan Gosling, Vampire Diaries' Ian Somerhalder and Gossip Girl's Chace Crawford, amongst many other notable actors.
The Fifty Shades of Grey story revolves around a recent college graduate named Anastasia Steele who gets herself caught up in a dominant and submissive sexual relationship with the rich and kinky Grey. Through an "agreement," they both explore the world of bondage and masochism.
Up until now, James and the producers attached to the film have remained relatively discreet on their casting approach. Focus Features and Universal Pictures purchased the movie rights to Fifty Shades in early 2012.
Bomer can next be seen on White Collar, which is set to air its 12th episode of Season four on Tuesday, Feb. 5 at 9 p.m. ET on the USA network.
