Buckle up, Blacklist fans, Red and Liz's journey is nowhere near over.

'The Blacklist' Season 3: Ressler & Samar 'Haunted' By Tryst, Do They Stand A Chance?

The master criminal and the ex-FBI profiler have spent the last two and a half seasons taking on the world's biggest threats, and the dynamic duo will continue kicking down doors and unraveling their pasts next fall. That's right, NBC has handed down the order for The Blacklist season 4.

"We knew about that a while ago. It's one of those things that's hard to keep quiet," series creator Jon Bokenkamp revealed to The Blacklist Exposed podcast on Friday. "But yes, we're renewed through the fourth season. Hopefully we don't tank that out. We've got a lot of story to tell."

'The Blacklist' Season 3: What Is In The Briefcase? EP Dishes On Liz's Care Package

First, however, Liz (Megan Boone) must crawl out of the massive ditch she managed to dig herself in the first half of season 3. Red (James Spader) managed to put together a get-out-of-jail-free care package for his partner, but thanks to the events of "Kings of the Highway," the magic briefcase is now missing an integral piece. With Liz in FBI custody, the future looks bleak indeed.

Luckily, fans can expect Red to be two steps ahead.

"He's got a great plan that people are really going to dig seeing how all this comes together," Bokenkamp told Entertainment Weekly. "His plan is less about just her safety, and more about leveling the playing field."
