Bar Refaeli Super Bowl 2013 Commercial For GoDaddy Rejected Several Times, 'Too Indecent' (VIDEO)
GoDaddy has decided to bring the sexy to viewers on Sunday. For their latest commercial that will air during Super Bowl XLVII, the tech company recruited the talents of supermodel Bar Refaeli and race car driver Danica Patrick.
GoDaddy came up with a clever concept that will surely connect with their male fan base of "average Joes"- they had a supermodel make out with a super nerd.
In the 30-second spot, Patrick says: "There are two sides to GoDaddy," the NASCAR driver says. "There's the sexy side represented by Bar Refaeli. And the smart side that creates a killer website for your small business, represented by Walter. Together, they're perfect."
The camera pans to Refaeli who then kissed a horn-rimmed glasses wearing nerd named Walter.
According to a report, the sexy shot took up to 45 takes to get it right. Also, previous versions of the commercial were rejected by the Super Bowl -GoDaddy told AdWeek that earlier versions of the commercial were deemed "too indecent. It took several edits to make the final commercial worthy of landing the lucrative real estate of having it aired before what will likely be over 100 million viewers.
GoDaddy and other companies paid up to $4 million to air their 30-second spot during the sporting event that was considered the most-watched event in television history last year.
Super Bowl XLVII will air on CBS on sunday, Feb. 3 at 6:30 EST.
Refaeli is known as a cover model of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 2009 when she dated Leonardo DiCaprio. She landed no.1 on Maxim magazine' Hot 100 list last year. The Israeli-Jewish model had dated DiCaprio off-and-on from 2005 and split for good in 2011.
"It was amicable, they're still friends and they are still talking," a "source close to the couple" told the New York Post. "They just grew apart and went their separate ways."
