Steven Spielberg made our childhood even more fantastic thanks to his acclaimed movie, E.T. Now, the genius director is ready to release his latest film that's guaranteed to melt hearts and ignite imagination.

People reports that The BFG or "The Big Friendly Giant" was originally written by renowned author, Roald Dahl, which tells the story of an orphan girl and a giant who shows her a world filled with magical adventures.

"I think it was kind of genius of Roald Dahl to be able to empower the children," said Spielberg. "It was very, very, very brave of him to introduce that combination of darkness and light which was so much Disney's original signature in a lot of earlier works like Dumbo, Fantasia, Snow White, and Cinderella, and being able to do scary, but also be redemptive at the same time and teach a lesson, and enduring lesson, to everyone. It was a wonderful thing for Dahl to have done and it was one of the things that attracted me to want to direct this Dahl book."

This is the first time three of the world's best storytellers-Dahl, Disney and Spielberg-have come together for a film. So we can be sure this is going to be one thrilling ride.
