As fans saw on Tuesday, Hilton nearly banned Richards from attending her daughter's wedding due to the new pilot.
"Kyle was initially uninvited to Nicky's wedding because of Kathy," an insider told E! News on Wednesday. "There was a lot of tension over the TV pilot Kyle has in development that's based on her life growing up with her sisters. Kathy even sent her a legal notice about it without any warning. Kathy did not want to come off negatively. So that's why, for a period of time, Kyle was not going to Nicky's wedding. She was disinvited at the end of June, just weeks before the wedding. Nicky and Kyle are close, but Nicky deferred to her mom."

In June, The Wrap revealed details of the project, claiming TV Land was working on a half-hour sitcom, which would be inspired by the life of Richards.
"The project is set in the ’70s and inspired by Richards’ unconventional upbringing by her single mother, who raised Richards and her two sisters," the site explained. "The untitled project centers on Bonnie Nolan, a 40-year-old woman with a beautiful home and three beautiful daughters. After her marriage fails, Bonnie must learn how to support herself and her children."
