NCIS returns this Tuesday, Dec. 15, with a brand new episode that will dig into the past of Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard's (David McCallum) family.

Which 'NCIS' Couple Do You Love The Most From DiNozzo & Zoe To McGee & Delilah?

The episode is called "Spinning Wheel" and according to the press release a man claiming to have information on his half-brother who apparently died decades ago would attack Ducky.

Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and the rest of the NCIS team will work to catch the man that attacked Ducky as the Chief Medical Examiner recalls his last few days with his brother that were clearly very emotional.

Aside from a major focus being on Ducky's family, Eleanor "Ellie" Bishop (Emily Wickersham) will deal with her marital problems with Jake (Jamie Bamber). Will they stay together and work through this extremely rough patch?

The NCIS YouTube channel released a preview clip from the episode, which is full of action and flashbacks for Ducky.

Adam Campbell will reprise his role of "Young Ducky," which he first took on last season in the episode called "So It Goes" which took Ducky back to England to uncover answers about why a British man murdered in the United States was carrying a list of deceased Navy men.

"Is there a reason you never told me you had a brother?" Gibbs asks Ducky in the preview clip below.

"He passed away," Ducky reveals, but a clip of Gibbs with Abby (Pauley Perrette) appears to disprove that.

"This can't be," Abby states as Gibbs declares, "Ducky's brother is still alive."

It looks like the NCIS team will even find Ducky tied up in the back of a van in the episode.

This is the winter finale of NCIS and the show will return in 2016 with new episodes.

NCIS airs on Tuesdays on CBS at 8 p.m. ET.
