The past 100 years for women in China have been full of changes. The last century isn't just about beauty and fashion, it's also about the real women who wore the looks. It emphasizes in the latest installment of "100 Years of Beauty" as makeup itself has transformed quite a bit over the years.

Cut.com's "100 Years of Beauty" series shows the evolution of the country's beauty standards over the last century to present day. They choose model Leah Li to display the evolution of beauty trends in China in a stunning time-lapse video.

Split bangs hairstyle in the 1910s, red lipstick and wavy bobs in the '20s. The "Shanghai girl" emerged in the '30s, the influence of World War II made the pulled-back hairstyle and no bangs in the '40s. You can see a sun-tanned women in the '50s because of the communist leader Mao Zedong.

In the '60s, Leah dresses as a comrade, rocking an army green cap, braids, and no make-up. China began experimenting, opening the door to a softer standard of beauty in '70s. Leah wears glasses in '80s, shorts bobs with white headbands in '90s. The look was classic in the '20s, minimal make-up with back updo. K-pop industry is responsible for the look of the 2010s, imitating the female pop stars' long voluminous curls and doe-eye make-up.
