Erica Mena has opened up about her split with rapper and actor Bow Wow after accusing him of physical abuse.

Mena and Bow Wow stayed extremely quiet about the rumors and one some days acted as if they did not exist or that they were still going strong. But now that things have come to a head and she has even said that he was abusive, she is speaking out about it.
She told Global Grind amid the drama this week that her eight-year-old son King was the reason she walked away.

“I’m not going to sit there and let my child see me mistreated by a man. I’ve been quiet about it because we were engaged, but obviously he was in his feelings after my SnapChat post.”
Apparently the latest beef between them started when Mena made the video on SnapChat of someone asking her if she was speed dating. She basically said guys are trash and wasn’t open to it. After that is when Bow Wow started posting photos of him and the mother of his child, Joie Chavis, on Instagram. Mena caught wind of the photos and that is when the abuse allegations came out on social media as well. See her accusations and Chavis’ response here.
She moved out of the home they shared together about a month ago, so the breakup is definitely still fresh.
Mena added, “I could have gone public about our breakup a month ago. He does this to make headlines. Just leave me alone, I moved on; why are you still in your feelings? He’s literally posting about Joie to get on my nerves and it’s not working. He’s posting it to [mess] with her head and try to get a reaction out of me. Listen, I walked away silently. He’s an abuser.”
She said that she did not “want his business out there” and given her history on reality television, she wants “peace.”
“I’m in a different place now. When it comes to Shad, this is the man I at one point really considered marrying. He is the one I decided to say yes to, but once the mask came off, I realized I had made a bad choice.”
She said the idea of them being friends is pretty much gone, but she doesn’t want to down him completely.
“He helped me realize that there could be life and when it was good, it was great. He has a lot of demons he needs to deal with. He needs to talk to someone.”
She also hinted that she has proof he abused her.
