Amal Clooney News: Is The Human Rights Lawyer’s Career Taking A Huge Blow? [VIDEO]
Amal Clooney might be getting a lot of exposure these days when it comes to the tabloid media but unfortunately her career as an International Human Rights Lawyer is getting a huge blow.
According to E! Online on Friday, George Clooney's wife got the pink slip from the Greek government for failing to help regain control of the Elgin Marbles.
The site says that Amal was supposed to help Greece take ownership back from Britain for their former collection of historical artifacts. Insiders say that there was a great chance of losing the case either way and that they would rather reclaim the marbles through a "political and diplomatic route."
"The legal services of Mrs. Clooney and her legal team are no longer required," Culture Minister Aristides Baltas told The Times. "Not for now, at least."
This isn't the first time though that Amal has been shamed by her clients as back in October there were rumors that she was about to throw in the towel with her day job.
Many Daily Mail commenters believe Amal is spending too much time focusing on her Hollywood lifestyle with her husband George rather than on her work as an international lawyer.
One critic wrote, "Amal is a sham. She has never led a case nor won a case and is still listed as a junior at her law firm. She's only leeching on to Clooney's famous name," along with, "She lost ANOTHER case. She's AWFUL. Perhaps there was a tequila party with the Egyptian 1% to attend after playing lawyer for an hour or so?"
Another commenter wrote, "Mrs Clooney loses another case. Has she actually ever defended anyone successfully? She's too busy worrying about her hair and best side for the camera instead of focusing on her client."
