Miley Cyrus New Tattoo, Friendship Symbols on Arm [Photo]
Miley Cyrus debuted her latest tattoo on Jan. 31, posting an image of the arm ink on her Twitter page with the caption "Ratta tat tat."
The 20-year-old singer got two crossed arrows on her right elbow, a Native American symbol for friendship. The ink was done by artist Kat Von D, who wrote on her Twitter page "Loved tattooing @MileyCyrus yesterday! Simple symbols of friendship make beautiful tattoos. <3"
The new tattoo is the latest in a line of others Cyrus already has, including ones inside her ear, on her fingers, ankle, forearms and ribcage.
Cyrus told Harper's Bazaar magazine in 2010 that the pain from getting a tattoo was based on the significance of the ink.
"It really doesn't hurt if you're thinking about the meaning," she said. "I could never get a meaningless tattoo, but I think that if you're doing something that's important, that's significant in your life, it takes some of the pain away."
Cyrus and her fiance, The Hunger Games actor Liam Hemsworth, have matching tattoos that are a quote from a famous speech by former president Theodore Roosevelt. Cyrus has equal signs on her ring finger, symbolizing marriage equality, and she also has a heart and a cross on her fingers. On her right wrist, she has sailor anchors and a dream catcher on her torso, reportedly with four feathers representing her siblings.
She also has the words "just breathe" tattooed on her rib cage and "LOVE" inked on her right ear.
Cyrus and Hemsworth, 23, met on the set of their film 2010 The Last Song, in which they played teenage lovers. They got engaged in May of 2012.
The former Disney star graced the February 2013 cover of Cosmopolitan and in the interview she called Hemsworth her "hubby" and said "I'm so happy I'm married," fueling speculation that the couple secretly got married.
