Blake Shelton recently introduced girlfriend Gwen Stefani to his parents.

Marilyn Philips, a friend of the Shelton family, recently spoke out, confirming the 38-year-old country singer recently took Stefani, who continues to battle pregnancy and engagement rumors, to Oklahoma, where she met his mother, Dorothy, and stepfather, Mike Shackleford.

“I think when Blake introduced her to the family here it’s the most country she’s ever been,” Phillips told Radar Online on Wednesday. “She’ll have to get used to it. He took her to all the local joints. There’s not a Starbucks within 50 miles of here!”

“I think it’s great he’s dating Gwen. They say opposites attract and this is a perfect example. Blake and Gwen are essentially from two different worlds so it must be exciting for them,” Phillips continued.

Meanwhile, Justin Perry, a friend of Shelton's, applauded Stefani for being much friendlier than Shelton's ex-wife, Miranda Lambert.

“Whenever Miranda would come in she wouldn’t want to take any pictures with us,” Perry claimed. “[Miranda’s] a very cold person, very stuck up, you know? She would try to act like a bigger celebrity than him."

“Gwen’s no country music singer. She’s everything he’s not had before. Maybe that’s what he needs right now,” added Larry Rigbsy, who works with Perry.
