Safaree Samuels has opened up about being a ghostwriter for his ex-girlfriend Nicki Minaj as rumors spread that he is suing her.

During a recent interview with This Is 50, Samuels spoke on the lawsuit and said, “What’s fair is fair. You can’t do something, put it on that type of scale…I helped and I have nothing to do with. It doesn’t work like that. I have to go after what’s mine.”
He confirmed, “I didn’t get writing credit on anything.”

When asked how many songs Samuels was involved with, he implied it was a majority of them when he answered, “Anything that has to do with rap…Anything that’s bars and all of that….”
Still, as far as the songs where Nicki was singing “girly,” he said he was not the brains behind those hits.
“Everybody gets help. But don’t act like I didn’t help.”
As far as trying to speak to Nicki personally about it, he said, “You can’t just ignore a situation. You just wanna act like…and just ignore something? Okay, fine. It is what it is.”
Still, one person he has connected with lately is singer K. Michelle. He said he “helped her musically” as well. There is speculation that the two are dating, but he hinted that he wasn’t up for turning a business relationship personal again.
“I can’t do that again…”
