Beyonce Knowles' Father: Singer Taking Mathew To Court
Just when things were dying down between Beyonce and her dad, Mathew Knowles, the drama heats back up as they might be seeing one another in court very soon.

Word is that Beyonce plans to take legal action against her father over the ownership of mega girl group Destiny’s Child. Mathew once managed the now split girl group, but clearly still has control over them. Interestingly enough, he has been saying that they are going to be going on tour together soon.
But if Beyonce has her way, that won’t be his call.

In Touch Weekly reported Friday that Destiny wants to take ownership of the name and music of the girl group.
“She’s ready to take action. Beyonce is going to sue her own father. She’ll take him to court to show that she deserves the rights to her own band.”
As for why she wants to sue him four years after she fired him as her own personal manager, the insider said, “She feels he basically stole the group and the [trademark] on Destiny’s Child.”
But it was actually Mathew who named the girls Destiny’s Child, which is what they went with instead of their original name Girl’s Tyme. While it’s been said that Mathew only owns around 25 percent of the group’s brand, the source said the number might be closer to 100 percent; especially because he also has some invested in Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams’ careers, not just Destiny’s Child’s.
“Mathew wants a destiny’s Child reunion so he can see another payday. Up until this point, they have let him get away with hit, but they want to perform Destiny’s Child music and make their fans happy--without Mathew making a profit. Beyonce never wanted to sue him, but he’s given her no choice. He won’t allow them to use their own name--unless he gets paid,” the source continued.
