Is there any truth to rumors of a Downton Abbey movie?
Mary Is Going 'Business Mode' On 'Downton Abbey'
On Tuesday, Deadline posted an interview with executive producer Gareth Neame who mentioned how glad he is that people are wondering about a movie because now he's not getting another repetitive question.
"I'm glad about the movie question because it replaces the question of three years which was always, 'When is the show going to end?'" Neame said.

So is a movie actually happening? The producer is open to it, but nothing is guaranteed or even in development at this point.
"We've had some conversations about it," he said. "[Series creator] Julian [Fellowes] and I are keen. There is no script and no firm plan, but it's certainly something there is to talk of; we're not in denial about anything. We'll know more next year."
Neame then talked about how the reaction of the final season of the series has been to people in the United Kingdom who already had the chance to see what's going to happen. As it turns out, everyone seems pretty satisfied by how it all turns out.
"People enjoy these final seasons," Neame said. "When you're so vested in the characters and how they reach conclusions...the conclusions aren't definite. The camera is just going to move away and unbeknownst to us (the characters' lives will continue). I think people have found it very satisfying how stories have been tied up. We achieved all expectations. A lot of people feel it's the best season ever. That's rewarding."
Downton Abbey Season 6 premieres in the United States on Sunday, January 3 on PBS.
