Isabelle LaPeruta Story: Little Girl Calls 911 After Knocking 'Elf On The Shelf' Onto The Floor
Kids all over America are impatiently awaiting Santa Claus in hopes that they'll land on his good list, but one little girl from New Jersey feared she ruined her entire Christmas.
Isabelle LaPeruta, a 7-year-old from Old Bridge, called 911 in a panic after she accidentally touched her "Elf on the Shelf," the doll from a popular children's book that keeps an eye on kids in their home, making sure they are behaving.
According to the legend, if a child touches the scout elf, the magic of Christmas goes away.
At the time of the incident, Isabelle's mother was sleeping and the recorded 911 call reveals that the little girl was actually attempting to call her father.
After the 911 operator picks up and asks her what the problem is, she panics and says, "Don't come to my house! Don't!" Isabelle then admits that she was trying to call her father, and the 911 operator reassures her that it was just a mistake.
Of course, the operator then dispatched officers to the residence, and Isabelle's mother, Lynanne LaPeruta, awoke from her nap as the young girl was trying to shoo officers away.
"She was hysterical crying, she was panicking," Lynanne told NBC New York.
