Kelly Clarkson Grammys 2013: Best Pop Solo Winner
At the Grammy Awards on Sunday Kelly Clarkson took home the award for Best Pop Solo Performance proceeding she performance at the Staples Center.
Clarkson announced her engagement to talent manager Brandon Blackstock on her Twitter account Saturday. The pop singer, who won the first season of American Idol, has been dating Blackstock since early this year, she revealed in a November appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Blackstock is the stepson of country singer Reba McEntire.
Clarkson performed this year at the VH1 Divas concert and also at the 2013 Obama inauguration where he was sworn into office for the second time on Jan. 21.
Upon accepting her award on Sunday, Clarkson thanked her fiance - whom she called "sexy" - and thanked her fellow nominees. She said she loved fun. and said she did not know who Miguel was, but that they needed to do a collaboration.
Clarkson's album Stronger was released in October of 2011.
Two-time Grammy winner LL Cool J returned to host the award show, honoring the greatest in music.
Leading the Grammy nominations were Frank Ocean, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Fun., and Mumford & Sons, who are all tied with six nominations a piece. In second place were The Black Keys, and Miguel, who each got nominations in five categories.
