Even though Jill Duggar has made several trips back home after moving to Central America with her husband Derick Dillard and their 8-month-old son Israel David, it looks like the young family has decided to spend the holiday on their own. Apparently, the couple chose to stay in Guatemala for Christmas rather than flying back to Arkansas to be with the Duggar family.

According to Jill's social media accounts, the couple has been busy preaching the word of the Lord during their missionary trip. While some critics have been accusing them of converting Catholics to their own religion, Jill and Derick insist that they are simply helping communities in need.

Derick wrote on the couple's official website, "As I'm sitting here in Central America with sweat on my brow, it doesn't quite seem like it should be Christmas time. However, looking up on the wall next to me in our house, I read the words "Alegria Para El Mundo" on a homemade Christmas banner that Jill's mom made and sent down to us, and I am reminded again that it is, in fact, that time of the year when we reflect most on God sending His son into the world to save us from our sins."

He also added, "In English, the banner translates "Joy to the World" and it is because of that joy through Jesus Christ that I have moved my family to Central America to preach and teach this joy that is good news to the world."

Earlier this year the couple was heavily criticized for supposedly using their donated money from their fans for their own travel expenses. They have since then offered to give the money back but have also been staying in Central America without making any additional trips, too.
