On Oct. 13, during a custody hearing with her ex-husband, Corey Simms, in regard to their 6-year-old twins, Ali and Aleeah, Messer was granted weekend visitation rights, while her ex was awarded primary custody and left in charge of caring for the girls from Monday until Friday.
According to In Touch Weekly, the judge on their case made his decision based on Messer's behavior in the months since Simms filed for full custody.
“Leah’s really been screwing up since then, so Corey took her back to court," an insider explained. "The judge looked at the girls’ school records, which show that they’ve been late for school, and made the change in custody.”
