That appears to be the case based on Thursday's report from WOWT News. A teenage girl named Alyssa Wacker is set to audition for the competition just one day after being released from the hospital.
Wacker had broken her neck after a frightening car accident that left plenty of uncertainty on how she would be able to continue her life. As a talented singer and guitarist, Wacker was concerned if this was the end of the road for her in music.

"I was very worried about that actually," the teen said. "The surgeon came up to me and she said, 'There's a risk with this surgery because we have to move your vocal cords.'"
It's been a working struggle, but occupational therapist Molly Thomas seems to have hope for Wacker's future.
"She's made tremendous progress here," Thomas said. "It's awesome to see that. It's been almost daily progress. Hopefully so she can play the guitar like she used to."
There is one challenge in particular that Wacker has to face when she picks up the guitar.
"I need my left hand for my guitar so hopefully it will start working soon," she said.
Wacker is set to be released from the hospital on January 22 right before her audition.
America's Got Talent is expected to return in spring 2016.
