Lindsay Lohan to Open High-End Mexican Restaurant in Tribeca
With all of Lindsay Lohan’s countless ventures from acting to being the creative director of a high-end fashion line, the actress has now turned to the world of culinary.
The 26-year-old was seen scoping out a location in Tribeca to open a trendy high-end Mexican restaurant. The Tribeca Citizen reported the Liz & Dick actress was looking at 39 N. Moore St. in the posh lower Manhattan neighborhood as the spot to sizzle her burritos.
The tipster told the website that Lohan was mulling around and marking where she would station a DJ booth and a bar in the commercial space.
“We told that Lindsay Lohan was in the retail store currently in our commercial space late this afternoon,” the source wrote on the website. “Importantly, she was talking about the potential design of the space, including where she would like to put a bar and a DJ booth.”
Should the venture actually happen, this wouldn’t be Lohan’s first foray into the food business. In 2006 she was planning to open a restaurant with then boyfriend Harry Mortan, the son of the owner of LA’s Hard Rock Café.
With Lohan's increasing debt woes and legal troubles, opening the restaurant of her dreams might prove to be a challenge. TMZ reported the actress owes her ex-lawyer Shawn Holley $150,000 for attorney fees. The star is also in trouble with Uncle Sam as she has an outstanding tax bill of $130,000.
Lohan is due in court on March 18 on charges that she lied to California police about a June car crash and violated probation. She plead not guilty to three midsdemeanor charges of reckless driving, lying to the police and obstructing police when her sports car smashed into a truck in Santa Monica, Calif., in June 2012.
