To say that New York is the top destination to welcome 2016 is an understatement. From massive crystal balls and elaborate fireworks to endless parties and binging, it is truly an experience every person in the world should have a chance at.

Surely there will be too much going on during New Year's Eve in the greatest city in the world. While we all wish we can be at all places at once, we've come up with the most exciting events you should check out this year.

With a little help from Time Out New York, here's a little something for every New Yorker and tourists alike.

Enjoy the fireworks crowd-free

Over a million locals and tourists squish against each other to witness the ball drop and fireworks display every year. If you don't want to welcome 2016 cursing at that kid who stepped on your shoe, head over to Prospect Park. The pyrotechnic showcase from there is to die for. Plus, you get a free hot cocoa paired with a free concert you can enjoy with friends and family. The best part? It's absolutely free.

If the holidays have burnt a major hole in your pocket, don't fret. You can still stuff your face for cheap while the rest are freezing out in Time Square. Park Slope's comfort-food spot Backyard will give you the best dining experience that won't hurt the wallet. From $10 New England chowders to a three-course meal for just a couple of Jacksons, you'd be welcoming the New Year with a full stomach and a fat grin on your face. Oh and the meal includes a complimentary glass of bubbly! How fabulous is that?!

For those obsessed about starting their New Year the healthiest way possible, join the annual Time's Up New Year's Ride over at the West Side. Take your wheels or board for a spin and meet up at the Brooklyn side of the Williamsburg Bridge at or at Washington Square. At the end of the ride, you can either hit up the party in Central Park's Belvedere Castle or sit on the grass and share a potluck meal with your ride buddies.

If there's one thing every party animal knows to be true, it's that New York City is overflowing with NYE bashes enough to last you an entire year. From the Justin Martin and Kill Frenzy-led rager in BangOn! Brooklyn to Output's 22-hour 2015 sendoff, be sure to pack up some serious energy because this will go on til the morning.

If it's not banging techno and tribal sound you'd want to dance to, then disco may just be the word you're looking for. The folks over at Eldorado Auto Skooter, Brooklyn are throwing a disco extravaganza that will definitely give you a major Saturday Night fever. Plus, the sound system was built by Richard Long, the engineer behind the gear at Studio 54 and the Garage so you know, it's going to be good!

Mellow out
