'Arrow' Season 4 Spoilers: What We Know So Far About The Upcoming Episodes Of This Chapter [VIDEO]
As fans eagerly await the return of season 4 of Arrow, Enstars rounds up all that is known about the intense second act lined up.
The most crucial storyline will have to do with Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards). After Felicity was gravely injured by Darhk's forces and in the preview for the midseason premiere she is seen fighting for life in the hospital, there are suggestions of her possibly dying and her being the mysterious person in the grave, who's death Oliver (Stephen Amell) vowed to avenge.
The teaser for the episode, titled 'Blood Debts,' of the midseason premiere of season 4 shows a distraught Oliver as the fatally injured Felicity is fighting for her life in hospital.
"Now I know it's not my fault, it's my responsibility, to end it I am going to kill him," Oliver's voiceover is heard through the clip.
It seems like Felicity is going to succumb to her wounds, as at the end of the clip Oliver is seen shedding tears over someone's fresh grave. Even though nothing is explicitly stated and we only have visuals to go by, the teaser very strongly hints at the fact that Felicity is six feet under and Oliver is set to take Darhk down.
But new reports are giving fans hope, by suggesting that there might be an alternative to Felicity's absolute death, that she might become the Oracle. Movie Pilot reasons why this is a legit possibility and that showrunner Marc Guggenheim had also hinted at the fact.
Now that Black Canary and Huntress are in place, only the Oracle remains to complete the league of female vigilantes. The most credible source i.e. Guggenheim had suggested that Felicity's code name will be revealed in episode 11 of season 4 and that the name would have an 'A' in it.
A TVLine report was also more discerning about the teaser and pointed out how misleading the teaser can be. According to the piece Oliver's voiceover, where he talks about avenging someone's death is from earlier footage. The report also adds the six months have yet to pass on the show. Infact the piece also offers other candidates for people in the grave.
In other news, it was revealed that Megalyn Echikunwoke will be playing the Vixen in season 4.
Echikunwoke voices McCabe for the CW Seed's cartoon web series Vixen.
Showrunner Marc Guggenheim also spoke elatadely about the addition to the cast.
"We're not only thrilled to be further expanding our DC television universe by bringing in the live-action incarnation of the CW Seed hit, Vixen, we're immensely excited that Megalyn will be revisiting her role as Mari McCabe," he said.
The actress will make her debut as McCabe in episode 15, which will air on Feb. 24.
TVLine previously reported that Tom Amandes has been cast to play DC Comics villain The Calculator in season 4.
'Blood Debts' will air on January 20 on The CW.
