Adele denied that she got in an argument with Chris Brown at the Grammy Awards on Feb. 10, saying that the photo of the two artists looking at each other with serious faces was taken as they passed along compliments.

Rumors began of a feud between the two singers after a photograph surfaced showing Adele talking to Brown. Many believed she was scolding the Don't Wake Me Up singer for remaining seated during Frank Ocean's standing ovation at the Grammys.

The Rolling in the Deep singer, however, took to Twitter on Tuesday to settle the claims and say they are false.

"Chris Brown and I were complimenting each other in that photo actually!" the nine-time Grammy award winner tweeted. Adele liked Brown's white suit and he returned the compliment with his approval of her floral embroidered Valentino gown.

Adele will take to the Academy Awards stage on Feb. 20 to perform her James Bond theme track Skyfall, which is also nominated for Best Original Song. For the same song Adele took home the award for Best Original Song at the Golden Globes on Jan. 13. At the Grammys she took home an award for Best Pop Solo Performance for her song Set Fire To The Rain, presented to her by Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull.

"I'm s---ting myself!" she told reporters backstage at the Grammys about her upcoming Oscars performance. "It's an honor to be nominated and terrifyingly wonderful to be singing in front of people who have captured my imagination over and over again."

Brown was nominated in the category of Best Urban Contemporary Album but Ocean took home the honor for Channel Orange. The two R&B singers recently had a scuffle outside of a recording studio in California. A physical fight broke out reportedly over a parking spot.
