While Rinna has been a great addition to the show, leading to her contract renewal last year, she hasn't always wanted to be a reality star, and feels the genre is just as dramatic as the soaps in which she once starred.
“Reality has become the new soap opera,” she told Forbes, according to a report by OK! Magazine on Wednesday.

Rinna joined the Bravo cast after season four. At the time, the show had just lost two wives, Carlton Gebbia and Joyce Giraud, whose contracts weren't renewed after they starred in just one of the series' installments. Also coming aboard the show after season four was Rinna's fellow soap star, Eileen Davidson.
“Reality TV was never really part of the plan,” Rinna continued to Forbes. “I studied to be an actor and that was that.”
In addition to her role on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Rinna recently landed a spot on an upcoming talk show. According to a report by The Daily Dish, Rinna announced the news on Heather Dubrow World, claiming the show would begin production sometime this month.
