Donald Trump News 2016: Wife Melania Says She’s Staying Silent For A Reason [VIDEO]
Donald Trump might be one of the most outspoken candidates in the Presidential race right now, while his wife, former model Melania Trump, has stayed rather quiet--almost too quiet, according to some critics. But the Slovenian-born beauty says there's a good reason for that, as she simply doesn't want to steal her husband's spotlight.
In a new interview with Harper Bazaar's print edition this month (via Page Six), Melania says that while she doesn't often do interviews or express her political views on social media, that doesn't mean she doesn't state them behind closed doors.
She says, "Between me and my husband, I know everything that is going on," she says. "I follow from A to Z. I choose not to be on the campaign. I made that choice. I have my own mind. I am my own person, and I think my husband likes that for me."
What's more, Melania also says that Donald's decision to run for the White House was a collective one made by the entire family, including Donald's children from his previous marriages to Ivana Trump and Marla Maples.
She added, "We decided as a family it was something we would do. He tells the truth. Everything is not roses and flowers and perfect, because it is not. He wants America to be great again, and he can do that."
