Ex jazz player, Edward Hardy, had to be separated from his wife for 75 years, Betty, 91, when he moved into a care home in Wookey, Somerset after he was diagnosed with dementia.

Amazingly, despite suffering from dementia, the talented war veteran never lost his piano playing abilities and because he felt so lonely, he wanted to play again in a band but with his old mates gone, it was most likely impossible.

A worker in the facility wanted to help the old man decided to made a nationwide appeal on the internet thru Gumtree to find some new band mates and it received a warm response from more than 80 musicians all over U.K. who wanted to play with the veteran.

The response was so overwhelming that the musicians are planning more sessions not only in the coming months but also in the coming years to play and jam with Edward Hardy.
