On Feb. 16, the cast of Saturday Night Live poked fun at the Carnival Cruise fiasco that took place earlier in the month with Jason Sudeikis and Cecily Strong playing two cruise directors trying to entertain the passengers of the ship that was stranded for days after a small fire.

The skit opened up with the ship being somewhere along the Gulf of Mexico. Strong's character praised the ship's passengers, saying they looked pretty great for people who had not showered in four days, and Sudeikis added, "Just because we're stuck in the middle of the ocean with no working toilets, doesn't mean we can't have some fun."

The cruise comedian then came on stage to liven up the crowd but he was too upset about the cruise debocale to make jokes. Sudeikis and Strong themselves came back to cheer up cruise guests, and made a joke referencing the alleged murder of Olympian Oscar Pistorius' girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

The crew members read headlines from the week's newspapers, delivered via helicopter, to further cheer the guests. However, each story was morbid such as the Pope's resignation, the North Koreans testing a nuke, and that Pistorius being accused of murdering his girlfriend.

"Hey you guys remember Oscar Pistorius?" Sedeikis' character asked the audience. "The Olympian sprinter who ran on blades...Well it says here that -- no, no, no, no."

The last headline was, "You guys think you might have it bad? But do you have it worse than 4,000 stranded on nightmare cruise. That --- is about us."

SNL was hosted by Django Unchained star Christophe Waltz and Alabama Shakes gave a performance. In his opening monologue the Austrian actor was joined by a fake Adolf Hitler, as he made fun of Germans and their sense of humor before breaking out into an Austrian song. Watch here.

The episode included a a skit about the State of the Union address and Marco Rubio's talked about sip of water during his State of the Union rebuttal.
