The Grammy nominated group Alabama Shakes performed two songs on Saturday Night Live on Feb. 16.

The band started the night off with frontwoman Brittany Howard giving a subtle take on Hold On, the opening track of their debut album Boys & Girls. They then returned to the stage with Always Alright, in which Howard showed her fierce vocals.

The Alabama-based group was nominated for Best Rock Performance and Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards, which aired on Feb. 10. Fellow new artist nominees included the Lumineers, Frank Ocean and winners Fun.

SNL was hosted by Django Unchained star Christophe Waltz. The Austrian actor in opening monologue was joined by a fake Adolf Hitler, as he made fun of Germans and their sense of humor before breaking out into an Austrian song.

Poking fun the Tarantino movie, Waltz starred in a spoof video called Djesus Uncrossed, described as the "ultimate historical revenge fantasy" featuring Jesus Christ played by Waltz. He was portrayed as a killer who "may be wearing sandals but he can still kick a**."

"No more mister nice Jesus," Waltz said while pretending to be Christ.
