There won't be an explanation why this happened, but it sounds like it will come with more difficulties. Rhoda will want to keep her baby, but the father might have issues with accepting his child's problem.
This is when the ladies of the house come together to do what they can to help this family so hopefully all will go decently.

As stories continue to revolve around the heartfelt moments that come when babies are born, another plot that fans can expect is furthering the romance between Delia and Patsy. In a post from Daily Mail, Kate Lamb (Delia) explained why having this connection between two women is so intriguing for the series.
"Back then, lesbianism wasn't illegal because Queen Victoria didn't believe it even existed. It was something no one talked about, but something some women had to struggle with," Lamb said. "But we are making a teatime show that is watched by families. The reason it works and the reason we get a big response from the audience is that the emphasis isn't on sex, it's on the relationship."
Call the Midwife Season 5 premieres in the United States on Sunday, April 3 on PBS.
