Fans of the former couple known as McGosling had big reasons to start hyperventilating during the Golden Globes last night. Both Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams were in attendance at the event--and they spent much of the night sitting just two tables away from each other.

It's unclear if the exes actually interacted at any point during the night, but hardcore fans made sure to notice that both were there to support their nominated films--McAdams for Spotlight and Gosling for The Big Short. And naturally, many took to social media to share their excitement that the two--who dated until 2008--were not only both there, but would also somehow fall in love once again.

Some fans even referenced the pair's famous kiss from when they accepted their MTV movie award for that category back in 2005, where they took to the stage and ran to one another. Gosling picked up his then girlfriend and holding her in his arms as they shared a steamy smooch, then carrying her to the podium to accept their award.
Of course, the two have been broken up for several years now. McAdams has been linked to Michael Sheen, Patrick Sambrook and Taylor Kitsch in recent years, while Gosling has been with Eva Mendes since 2011. The couple even welcomed a daughter together in 2014, Esmeralda Amada.
