The preview for the midseason premiere of Criminal Minds reveals Aubrey Plaza's chillingly intense character threatening Dr. Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler).

TVLine released an exclusive sneak peek from the episode, titled "Entropy." In the clip, Plaza's character, Cat Adams, is seen on a date with Reid, challenging him to a game. Adams has a deadpan look on her face, and it only spells menace. The game involves Adams asking Reid questions and him answering them truthfully; she will be able to tell if he is lying, she warns him. As the clip progresses, it is made known to us that this is not just any date and Reid is actually here to nab Adams.

Last month, TVLine revealed that Plaza would be guest starring in the mid-season premiere of the series, set to air on January 13. The Parks and Recreation actress will be playing the antithesis of what we are used to seeing her as, out of her comedic element. Adams will pull a gun on Reid, and things will spiral out of control from there. The episode is going to be one helluva tense ride, as Adams will reveal that she knows Reid is an FBI agent and will have him get into action as she threatens to take down not only him but all the people in the restaurant.

Here's the official synopsis for the episode:

"As Reid returns from Las Vegas, Nevada, he is put into a dangerous situation to help the team, by playing a vital role in what will be an elaborate, delicate strategy to eliminate from the world the network of hitmen who have threatened Garcia - the mysterious silk road derivative, "The Dirty Dozen" - once and for all."

"Entropy" will air on CBS on Jan. 13.
