Danny Glover is going to be playing Derek Morgan's (Shemar Moore) father in season 11 of Criminal Minds, according to new reports.

Showrunner 'Absolutely Wants' Jane Lynch Back In Season 11

TVLine revealed that Glover will guest star as Derek's dad in an episode, titled Derek. Showrunner Erica Messer also weighed in on this starry addition for the episode. "It's an interesting role that he plays," Messer said. "The reason Derek needs to call on this protector in this moment and work through some things is really beautifully written by Breen Frazier, and directed by [cast member] Thomas Gibson."

In other major star power this season, Aubrey Plaza is set to guest star in the midseason premiere for the CBS procedural.

TVLine reported that Plaza would playing the part of Cat Adams, a deadly date for Dr. Reid (Matthew gray Gubler). The Parks and Recreation actress will be playing the antithesis of what we are used to seeing her as, out of her comedic element. Adams will pull a gun on Reid, and things will spiral out of control from there. The episode is going to be one helluva tense ride, as Adams will reveal that she knows Reid is an FBI agent and will have him get into action as she threatens to take down not only him but all the people in the restaurant.

The midseason premiere, titled "Entropy" will air on CBS on Jan. 13.
