'Castle' Season 8 Spoilers: Will Rick's Missing Time Arc Be Concluded In Second Half? [VIDEO]
We will finally get to the bottom of Castle's (Nathan Fillion) missing time when ABC's Castle returns for the second half of season 8.
How Will Rick Behave While Giving Testimony In Upcoming 'Castle' Episode?
The new TVLine Winter Preview features a quote from Castle co-showrunner Terence Paul Winter confirming the conclusion of the Castle-going-missing arc.
"Here's a promise: We are going to conclude that. It will be done," he said.
Will 'Castle' Finale Also Work As Series Ender For Rick & Kate?
Fans will remember Castle going missing right before he was set to get married to Beckett (Stana Katic) in the season 6 finale. While some time was devoted to where he went, the series never fully explained exactly who was behind his disappearance.
Meanwhile, with Castle and Beckett seeing each other in secret now (for the purpose of keeping up appearances as the LokSat case moves along), there will be some...making up for lost time, as co-showrunner Alexi Hawley said.
"There's a lot of 'lost time to make up for,' so to speak, in the bedroom. So there is some friskiness," he said.
Castle has also cast for two important new characters. Nick E. Tarabay (Spartacus) will play Vasily Zhirov, a Russian Diplomatic Security Service agent.
"We have a diplomatic security agent from Russia who comes, because there is the death of a Russian national. He's a big character," Hawley said.
And then there's Ellen Woglom (Californication), who, as Hawley described, takes viewers to "the police academy where Beckett was a star, back before she became a cop. Woglom's character, a cadet, is essentially a mentor to Beckett.
Castle returns for the second half of season 8 on Monday, Feb. 1 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
