The widely popular lip balm touted by the likes of Miley Cyrus, Kim Kardashian and of course, Britney Spears, is being sued by a bunch of customers who say they used the product and ended up a bloody mess, TMZ reports.

Reports say that a woman named Rachael Cronin filed the class-action laswsuit against the company on Tuesday, Jan. 12. The suit claims the product has produced a panoply of bad reactions, including severe rashes, bleeding, blistering, cracking and loss of pigmentation.

According to Us Weekly, the lawsuit argues that EOS, which stands for Evolution of Smoothness, is “anything but smooth,” and states that Cronin suffered from rashes, bleeding, blistering, cracking and loss of pigmentation after using the product. Her reaction to the product was so bad, she claims, that she required medical attention.

Cronin says that within hours of applying the balm, her lips felt like “sandpaper,” and after she reapplied the product, her “lips did not become smooth, and began severely cracking on the edges causing flaking and bleeding from the cracks.”

The following day, the lawsuit claims, Cronin’s “lips and surrounding skin area had severe blistering and rashes causing her to seek medical care.” Cronin claims the condition lasted for 10 days and that she was in “severe shock and panic.”

After posting photos on social media in connection with her lawsuit, she was contacted by numerous other “individuals who shared their experience and health problems.”

Despite all the allegations, according to reports EOS stands behind their product.

“Some of you may have seen reports of a lawsuit filed against our company. We wanted to be sure that you, our valued customers and fans, know that the health and well-being of our customers is our top priority,” the company posted on its Facebook page on Wednesday, Jan. 13.

“Our products are safe to use, are made with the highest quality ingredients and they all meet or exceed all safety and quality standards set out by our industry. An independent laboratory puts each of our products through a battery of rigorous testing to ensure this is the case. For these reasons, we firmly believe this lawsuit is without merit, and we will continue to create new and exciting products that delight our customers. Thank you. EOS.”
