Jenelle Evans' Husband Courtland Rogers On The Run? A No-Show For Assault Charges Court Date
Jenelle Evans' estranged husband, Courtland Rogers, is reportedly in trouble for failing to make his North Carolina court appearance on Monday.
Evans, 23, shared on Twitter that Rogers was on run from the law for failing to appear in a North Carolina court. Evans filed assault charges against Rogers on Jan. 23, the day after he failed to support her when she assumed she was having a miscarriage.
"Just got a call.. the law is looking for Courtland Keith Rogers," Evans tweeted on Monday. "Charged with 4 Counts of Assault on a Female and Battery of an Unborn Child."
"If you know any where-abouts of Courtland Keith Rogers is please call Brunswick County Sheriffs Department. I'm sick of him harassing me!" she added.
Evans' lawyer Dustin T. Sullivan explained Rogers' reason for being a no-show in court: Evans' estranged husband was never served court papers with details of the hearing.
"At this point in time, technically at this point [Courtland] doesn't know about the charges officially," Sullivan told Hollywood Life. "Until he's properly served, he doesn't know about the court date."
A Brunswick County Court official confirmed Sullivan's statement.
"Mr. Rogers did not appear in court," the rep told Radar Online. "He has not yet been served with the papers from the charges that were filed by Jenelle and there are warrants out for his arrest."
Evans attended the hearing because she was subpoenaed, said her attorney.
"Jenelle had showed up for court, but the court can't do anything. The only way that he is going to be served is if he shows up for court, or if the sheriff's office finds him," Sullivan said.
He added that Rogers has any legal incidents in the future, even a minor traffic violation, it could lead to him getting officially served the papers.
On Tuesday, Rogers responded to Evans tweet about "the law" looking for him following his failure to appear in court.
"@PBandJenelley_1 are u fu****** kidding me? you took fake charges out on me and now u are the queen? u destroyed my life n u laugh about it?" he tweeted. "I am done with twitter yalll believe that stupid girl that is bi-polar as fu** and lies more than anyone i know? smh @PBandJenelley_1."
A friend of Evans said she is "so mad at him right now" and that she wants Rogers "to man up and show up in court."
Evans and Rogers married in shotgun-style wedding after a two-month courtship. She announced she was pregnant by him in December but then had a miscarriage days after an explosive fight with her husband of 51 days.
