Howard Stern made negative remarks about Clive Davis on his SiriusXM show Wednesday in response to comments the music executive made in his memoir about Kelly Clarkson that she said were hurtful and inaccurate.

Stern was bothered by the content of an open letter Clarkson released on her official website Tuesday in response to claims Davis made in his memoir The Soundtrack Of My Life. In the book Davis recalled working with the American Idol winner but Clarkson said his version of what happened was untrue.

"So I just heard Clive Davis is releasing a memoir and spreading false information about me and my music. I refuse to be bullied and I just have to clear up his memory lapses and misinformation for myself and for my fans," Clarkson wrote. "It feels like a violation. Growing up is awesome because you learn you don't have to cower to anyone - even Clive Davis."

She also addressed "hysterical sobbing" Davis said she did in his office. She admitted that she did in fact cry in front of Davis, but that it was right after she played for him Because of You, a song that she said was about her life.

"I cried because he hated it and told me verbatim that I was a "s***ty writer who should be grateful for the gifts that he bestows upon me," Clarkson wrote. "He continued on about how the song didn't rhyme and how I should just shut up and sing."

Following Clarkson's letter, Stern sided with the pop singer and said she has an "amazing voice."

"It sickens me when management guys like to set the record straight about how f***ing creative they are and what geniuses they are," Stern said on his radio show. "This guy is trying to diminish what she does? Doesn't he have enough in life, can't he tell his story without f***ing degrading her?"

Davis said on Tuesday in a released statement that he thinks Clarkson is "a tremendous vocal talent and performer," but added, "I am truly very sorry that she has decided to take issue with what I know to be an accurate depiction of our time together."
