Oscars Worst Dressed Red Carpet Looks: Demi Moore, Faith Hill, Celine Dion, Bjork, Cher & More (PHOTOS)
As the A-list select their top fashion choice for the 85th Academy Awards on held Sunday, Feb. 24 in hopes of landing on the best dressed lists, Enstars has compiled a list of the past top 10 worst outfits at the Oscars.
The most notable stars who selected fashion that will go down in the history of the worst dressed Oscars fashion ever are Bjork, Cher, Helena Bonham Carter and surprisingly Faith Hill and Celine Dion.
Cher topped the list in 1986 when she wore a tall headpiece and flaunted her midriff in a custom design from legendary designer/collaborator Bob Mackie. Mackie served as Cher's costume designer since the 1970s when she had her hit show Sonny & Cher. Mackie's design for her in 1986, however, will always go down as one of the top 5 worst fashion moments in the history of the Oscars.
Bjork's ice-skating-inspired getup she wore in 2001 will always be remembered. The Icelandic singer arrived at the 73rd annual awards show donning a sheer bejeweled nude bodysuit and tights, and a fake swan wrapped around her neck. Bjork wowed the crowd when she showed that the dress had a surprise- her dress laid an egg!
In 1989, Demi Moore wore half of a ballgown with lace-trim biker shorts. Moore arrived with then husband Bruce Willis wearing a black corseted top with a gold print half-skirt with black Lycra knee-length shorts with sheer stockings and hi-heel pumps.
Geena Davis who attended the award show in 1992 after the success of 1991's Thelma and Louise, was fierce on-camera for her role but disappointed on the Oscars red carpet Her white ruffled dress was more befitting for a high school prom than the Academy Awards.
Celine Dion stood out for her all-white outfit in 1999. Her white Christian Dior tuxedo suit was stellar but when she decided to wear the double-breasted jacket backwards with a white top hat tilted to the side, it turned into a fashion fail.
To the the surprise of many, country music star Faith Hill had worn a rainbow-hued Versace dress in 2002.
Actress Uma Thurman had worn a frumpy dress that hid her beautiful figure at the 76th annual Academy Awards in 2004.
Hilary Swank found a piece of hot pink gauze to wrap around her pink mini-dress in 2003.
Costume designer Lizzy Gardiner's choice in 1995 was unforgettable. She wore a dress made completely out of 256 expired gold American Express cards.
