'Growing Up Hip Hop' Cast: Egypt Criss' Mom, Pepa Is Way Too Turned Up [VIDEO]
If fans thought rap icon Pepa was overbearing when it came to her daughter before, a new teaser for WeTV’s Growing Up Hip Hop reveals just how hands-on she can be with her daughter, Egypt Criss’ career.

An exclusive teaser shows Pepa and Egypt in the studio together as Egypt works on her own material.
Despite saying that Egypt was “doing great” and that she “looks cute,” Egypt later told cameras that she wasn’t up for her mom’s comments.
“Really, Mom?” she said. “I get that she’s trying to help but she can’t do that because it’s my time to shine.”
While Pepa tries to back away after the producer instructs her to, it’s definitely hard for her to just sit down quietly. So she starts giving hand gestures.
When the producer tells Egypt to give him a little more, she points out that her mom was distracting her. That doesn’t make Pepa too happy. But the producer still tells her not to touch the equipment and she does it anyway in hopes of getting Egypt’s attention.
She takes it a step further and turns off all the equipment.
“It’s so embarrassing how she just kept jumping in.”
The producers then ask Pepa to leave the studio all together and she does nothing but turns up.
“I’ve been in the game for over 20 years… I’m not leaving! No!” she said.
Egypt added, “I’m gonna be banned from every recording studio in the city,” thanks to her mom.
