Adele Oscars 2013 Best Original Song Winner [VIDEO]
Adele won her first Oscar on Sunday for the song Skyfall in the category of Best Original Song.
The United Kingdom native performed the James Bond theme song earlier in the evening on live television. The award also marked Adele's first ever Oscar nomination.
In her acceptance speech she called the award "amazing" and before she began tearing up she said, "and my man, I love you baby." She took home the award in the category that included tunes from Ted, Life of Pi, Les Miserables and Chasing Ice.
The song, from the soundtrack of the 2012 007 film with the same name, was also nominated Sunday for Best Original Score. The 24-year-old already won a Grammy Award and a BRIT Award for the song earlier in the year.
The film Skyfall was nominated at the Academy Awards for Best Cinematography, Best Sound Editing and Best Sound Mixing.
Adele returned to the stage to perform on Sunday after a long hiatus, where she had a son with her boyfriend Simon Konecki. Other performers on Sunday were Barbara Streisand, Nora Jones and Shirley Bassey. Jones performed the Oscar-nominated song Everybody Needs a Best Friend from the film Ted. Streisand's performance was only the second time she had sung at the awards show and Bassey made her Oscars debut in a special tribute honoring the 50th anniversary of the Bond film series.
