It seems like things are going to get pretty rocky for Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) going forward.

In a recent interview with TVLine, Arrow's executive producer Wendy Mericle strongly hinted at troubled waters for the couple. In fact, TVLine also interpreted and solved the riddle posed to fans by Mericle; while there is no confirmation if they are right in their assessment, it seems a likely possibility. The publication cited a limo ride the two shared from the funeral in the midseason premiere, "Blood Debts," and what a small detail for the keen observer could imply.

"I definitely think there is some tension and we're actually very intrigued to see if fans pick up on a very big clue about where they are at that point in their relationship," Mericle said. "It's in the scene, and it's a visual clue."

Showrunner Teases 'Real Game-Changer' In Upcoming Episode

The publication picked up the visual clue revealing that Felicity's ring finger was now bare, which would mean that they have probably broken off their engagement.

Mericle also spoke about how Rickards reacted to her character's paralysis after being shot.

"She was intrigued, and she was totally game," Mericle said. "She was excited because it's a new challenge, obviously, to be dealing with this kind of permanent disability. I think most actors get excited about any sort of real 'left turn' like that, and she was no exception."

The next episode, titled "A.W.O.L," will air on January 27 on The CW.
