Miranda Lambert News: Singer Opens Up About 'S****y' Year During Emotional Nashville Concert [PHOTO]
She may have moved on in a new romance of her own with Anderson East, but that doesn't mean Miranda Lambert hasn't completely forgotten just how much her 2015 was pretty emotional because of her divorce from Blake Shelton.
Miranda Lambert Teases Big Announcement
During a low-key performance at Nashville's City Winery, Lambert opened up about the tough year she's had and revealed that songwriting helped her get through some of the toughest months of her life. The track that prompted her to open up was one written by her guitarist, Scotty Wray.
"So this song, I don't know if I can do it without crying," she said. "Scotty Wray has been with me since I was 17. For a long time, he was my band. We have been through everything together, good and bad."
Did Anderson East Give Miranda Lambert A Romantic Gift?
"We both went through a really s****y 2015 and we have the tattoos to prove it," she continued. "He wrote a song a long time ago called 'Scars'...I never felt like I could sing it until now."
Lambert later took to Instagram to open more about the song, and admitted that what made it easier to sing it now was the fact that she lived through the hard times she did.
"Last night was magical. I feel so blessed to call these incredibly talented people my friends. They inspire me every day. And Scotty Wray who has been by my side with a guitar in his hands for 15 years now. I've been singing his song 'Scars' with him all those years. And last night I got to sing it on my own for the first time. It meant a lot to both of us. Sometimes you have to live it to sing it. Especially a song like that. Thanks to everyone who came to share it with us. #roadsidebarsandpinkguitars #unplugged #friends #inspiration," she captioned a photo from the concert.
