While there's no doubt that Amal Clooney is used to the pressure that comes with her job, is she having a hard time doing it in while also in the spotlight? That's what her fans can't help but wonder as many are calling George Clooney's wife "scarily skinny" and looking "stressed" after new photos were released of her in London this past week.

Why Is Amal Clooney So Hated In America?

According to the Daily Mail on Saturday, many readers couldn't help but notice that Amal looked thinner than usual during a meeting with British Prime Minister David Cameron and former Maldives President Mohammed Nasheed, who was overthrown in a military coup and imprisoned for 13 years on terrorism charges after what many are calling "dubious" trial. The former President is currently in the U.K. for back surgery while Amal is fighting for his release.

Many fans commented rather sarcastically on Amal's appearance with, "I'm sill trying to work out how those stick legs can support her body," along with, "I think it's great that she's using her brain and doing something productive in this world rather than just becoming another trophy wife of a famous man. However I think that the scrutiny of the media has taken it's toll on her, she needs help, she clearly has body issues and is far far far too thin."

Another critic wrote, "Someone give the woman a burger! She looks so skinny and fragile. Too much stress on the job?"

According to NBC News, Amal helped orchestrate negotiations to allow Nasheed to travel to the United Kingdom. Unfortunately though, his lawyers said the government was insisting a relative stay behind and sign a document that would subject the relative to criminal prosecution if Nasheed did not return.
